County Increases Disposal Fee

Published:
Monday, August 20, 2007

Lane County's higher disposal fee affects the customers of all haulers, including Sanipac's.

The County's new disposal fee goes into effect Sept. 1, 2007. Sanipac is passing through the exact amount of the Eugene and Springfield rate changes with no mark-up.

The increase translates into varying can and container pick-up rates for our residential and commercial customers. Please call us at 736-3600 if you have questions about the new cost of your garbage service.

The County's action means that all residents and businesses using garbage service will see increases in their bills. Cities set the actual rates. If you have questions about the rate increase or its amount, please contact Lane County or the public works departments at city hall in Eugene or Springfield.

More background information is on Lane County's website (http://www.lanecounty.org/pw%5Fwmd/) and, for our Eugene customers, the City of Eugene's site (http://www.eugene-or.gov/portal/server.pt?space=CommunityPage&control=SetCommunity&CommunityID=232&PageID=0).
